Maintaining your HVAC system reduces costs

One of the best ways to keep your HVAC system operating at peak performance is to keep the ducts clean. Dust, dirt, and other particles that build up inside the system ultimately causes the system to work harder because airflow is constricted and a dirty duct can shorten the life of the system. When this happens, excessive energy is used for the system to operate well and keep the environment cooler. However, maintaining the system regularly lowers the energy and improves the system performance while lowering your costs. The regular ventilation through the vents and filters improves energy usage as well. For instance, in a commercial building keeping your HVAC system clean can reduce your building to be classified as a “sick” building. According to the U.S Environmental Protection Agency, 6 out of 10 homes and buildings are “sick” which implies that they are hazardous to your health to occupy as a result to airborne pollutants. We’ve learned about the side effects of a “sick” building, which are coughing, sinus problems, headaches, eye irritation and upper respiratory discomfort.

Another concern if air ducts are dirty as well and not maintained is mold buildup. Mold can grow inside if moisture is present in the ducts. Mold buildup and poor air circulation can cause a poor unhealthy environment in your building and home. The risks to human health may be greater due to exposure to air pollution indoors than outdoors. Just imagine mold, dust and other particle accumulating inside your vents and inhaling it and not cleaning the HVAC system. At AIRTEK we are able to keep your environment cooler by cleaning out your HVAC system. AIRTEK’s certified technicians have the training, experience, and expertise to clean and handle every type of HVAC system. The air duct cleaning service provided by AIRTEK includes assessment, cleaning and restoration of HVAC systems.
