Happy Healthcare Engineer’s Week to all healthcare professionals! In honor of this year’s Healthcare Engineer Week, we interviewed our Healthcare Department professional, Alan Inbody.
1. What is Healthcare Engineer’s Week?
National Healthcare Facilities and Engineering Week, is observed annually during the fourth week in October, and is sponsored by the American Society for Healthcare Engineering (ASHE) of the American Hospital Association. This is when we would like to recognize the Facilities and Engineering Department and staff for the important role they play in keeping the hospital safe and operational.
2. Who is this week important to?
This is important to all the people involved in Healthcare Facilities and Engineering and all the departments that they serve. This is a time where Management and other business partners who serve the Healthcare Industry can recognize the Facilities and Engineering staff for their hard work and dedication. The Healthcare Facility Managers and Engineers are an essential partner in healthcare. These individuals work in all areas of facilities, including buildings and grounds, plant operations, design and construction, safety, security and clinical engineering. They often go unnoticed by patients, visitors, and other staff, yet these people are the unsung heroes who keep the facilities running smoothly. Without their dedication, it would be impossible to care for the ill in times of natural and man made disasters and they serve a vital role and it is this week that we can give them the recognition they deserve!
3. Why is it important for them?
As with most people that work behind the scenes, they often go unnoticed and unappreciated and this is a week that this can all be brought to the forefront and thank them for their countless hours and support of the hospital, staff, and patients.
4. How does Airtek Indoor Air Solutions celebrate Healthcare Engineer’s Week?

We are looking forward to taking breakfast and/or lunch to many facilities and also drop off some raffle prizes to others that their Management will hand out during a special lunches they will provide for their staff.
