Haboob Storm in Arizona

Posted on July 15, 2018
by Melissa Asplund

The recent “Haboob Storm” (Intense Dust Storm) that moved through the Phoenix Metro area earlier this week has also affected the air quality, with the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality rating air quality as “unhealthy for sensitive groups” for the few days following the storm. As Monsoons and Flash Flood warnings continue to affect the weather and cleanup efforts, it is important for residents to remember to stay safe and limit prolonged outdoor activity, especially those with asthma or other respiratory diseases. For your indoor air quality, remember that home HVAC systems are systems are a known collection source of contaminants, including small particles of dust, which have the potential to affect your health. Regular cleaning will help keep your indoor air quality cleaner, keep you healthier, and reduce your home energy bills.

We can be reached 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at 877-858-6220. We have several offices throughout Arizona and can pull teams as needed to assist in the recovery process.
