It’s finally feeling like fall. The temperatures have decreased and it’s getting cooler at night. Fall also means it’s allergies season and fall allergens are in the air. During the fall it tends to get windy and mold and pollen can travel long distances and enter our home when we tend to open our windows during the fall. If you get allergies through out the year certain pollutants in the air trigger your allergies and when it goes inside your home it gets in your clothes and inside your HVAC system. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, “Allergies are the 6th leading cause of chronic illness in the U.S. More than 50 million Americans suffer allergies each year.” The top 3 common fall allergens are:
- Mold & Mildew
- Dust Mites
These three common allergens can be found outdoors and indoors. It’s still not late to prep your home against allergens. The Indoor Air Quality Video Network recently released a video on indoor and outdoor culprits that can be found during the fall season.
