As a new homeowner there are many things to keep in mind when planning on keeping the indoor air quality good in a home. Some key points are maintaining the HVAC system, keeping the home ventilated and have a smoke free home. The American Lung Association advises that we can protect our home from one of the leading contaminants that causes cancer which is radon. Radon has been found in homes all over the U.S. Testing whether your home has radon is the only way to find out if you and your family are at risk. Since we spend the majority of our time indoors it is best to get our home tested for radon. The Indoor Air Quality Video Network recently shared a video about lung cancer and airborne contaminants.

The video focuses on airborne contaminants that can be found in your home. One of them mainly being radon and other contaminants like asbestos or lead paint who pose a hazard in our indoor environments. Watch the video to learn about these airborne contaminants and read our blog post where we give more details on testing your home for radon.
